Another day in the workshop, and I am still thawing out. I realised how cold it was in there when I went to sharpen some of my gouges and found a film of ice over the water bath on my wet stone grinder. Also, the digital thermometer (which is actually a redundant central heating programmer) went blank. Usually if the temperature in the workshop drops below 5C then the screen simply displays 'Lo'. Today it displayed nothing. However, I do have a small portable gas heater and after I'd run that for a couple of hours things started to improve insofar as the thermometer was once again showing 'Lo'. By 5pm this evening it had reached the dizzy height of 6 Celsius. Better late than never, I suppose. Yes, it's cold, but it's also January!
Anyway, between the tidying, reorganising and planning, I also produced this rather nice yarn bowl, as they seem to be popular at the moment. This one is now on sale in my Numonday shop at https://www.numonday.com/product/yarn-bowl/.
I have been asked to make some more of these for Past-Times but wanted to update my presence on Numonday, too, as I haven't put anything new on there for a while.
Next job? More needle threaders, then perhaps a bit of freelancing with some bowls and platters. There is also a new pen kit from Beaufort Ink - www.beaufortink.co.uk - that I want to try out. You'll see it here first.
So, by demonstration...
