It was the Duke of Wellington who was reputed to have said "Publish and be damned", in response to a blackmail attempt by a former lover who threatened to publish his love letters and expose him to the world. However, he wasn't called the Iron Duke for nothing. He didn't pay. Harriet Wilson, for that was her name, already had a bit of a reputation as a courtesan and had tried the same trick with several other prominent men of society. Some paid, some didn't - including our man the D of W. Nonetheless, Harriet published her book which, although largely fictional, became a best seller. Hardly a surprise, but there was little reputational damage to the ironclad Duke.
I am sitting here on the threshold of publishing this - or at least making it known that it exists - and am under no illusions that it will make any best seller list; it isn't meant to. Nor is it scandalous or salacious. Sorry to disappoint. However, I can't help but hope that it may reach a small but appreciative audience, even if it doesn't please all the people all the time. The subjects it covers are after all a bit niche; taking photographs and making shapes out of dangerously fast wood.
Anyway, enough of the old blather. Here comes the unashamed self-publicity. My photographs are available for sale as prints and wall art, or if you prefer, phone covers, mugs, t-shirts or dog feeding mats at:

My wood turnings are also available at: https://www.numonday.com/shop/timberspinner/
I post out my own wood turnings and will send them anywhere you like, but if you are outside the UK, please contact me for a shipping price.
Oh, and did I mention it's nearly Christmas?
